[Review] Silicone Hydrogel Lens in Lizzy Brown

It feels like forever since I last posted. But to make a long story short, these past two weeks I finished up some finals and got new management here at work. 3 people since then have been fired, and I'm the only one left in my department :( So stressful!

Anyways, these past few weeks, my circle lenses had been feeling extremely dirty! So of course after payday, I purchased some lenses. 3, to be exact. Expect some redundant lens reviews soon!

While looking through, I stumbled across these lenses that were called "Silicone Hydrogel Lens". I purchased two of this type of lens, and one regular circle lens.

This particular type of lens is $30, and the color is in Lizzy Brown. Do I think it's worth the price? Keep reading!

Diameter: 14.2mm
Graphic Diameter: 13.3mm
Water Content: 38%
Base Curve: 8.7mm

Here is the photo they have on the site explaining the lens:
I go to work for 9 hours everyday and then school right after that, so my eyes get dry and tired. I also have astigmatism, but not wearing toric lenses is completely my fault. Naturally, when I saw these lenses on the site, I knew I had to try them out!

So reading what is says, it takes about 1-2 days to get used to it. I decided to write this review on my third day of use.
Every lens comes in a cute box, with cute directions in the back.
As you can see, the ring isn't at the very edge, which will give a more natural enlargement.

Color: It's a nice natural brown color. It's neither dark or light on my eyes, just the right amount of brown.

Enlargement: At 14.2 mm, the enlargement isn't as big as what I'm used too, which is usually 14.5 mm. You can tell from the photo of the lenses that the dark ring doesn't cover the edge, which is why the enlargement effect isn't as drastic. I don't mind the it doesn't give me that full "dolly" effect, and I think the enlargement is just right when using on a daily basis. I don't look super "cute" wearing these, but looking like I'm 14 in the real world won't get me far in the healthcare administration field! So wearing these to work is ideal. My regular eyes as you can see from the picture, is ridiculously small anyways.

Comfort: The photo states that you need about 1-2 days to "adapt" to the lenses, whatever that means :x So I decided to do this review after the third day of use. What I first noticed when touching the lenses, was how slimy they were (maybe not a good description). But basically, it felt almost like jelly, which I assume is a good thing. OMG, so when typing that out, I remember that these lenses are called "Silicone Hydrogel", so yes....they feel like mini silicone jellies. They feel really nice and light, opposed to some lenses feeling rather thing and heavy on the eyes. My eyes still get dry after a couple of hours but it's not as bothersome as other lenses.

The first two days, I can honestly say that I DID feel something in my eyes. It was pretty bothersome, to the point where I ended up with a migraine halfway through the day. However, after the third day, they're feeling great.

Since these will be the lenses I'll be wearing most often, I'll model them will my beautiful blue scrubs -_-'
After all the heat last week, there has been no sun these past couple of days! So my usual car selfies are not working out for me.

Yes, I promise by next time, I'll get clearer pictures.

Final Verdict:

I noticed that I'm a real stickler when it comes to giving out 5/5 on reviews! But I don't know, I think it's because I'm really hopeful in finding a pair of lenses that I am IN LOVE with, and these just aren't it. Don't get me wrong, these lenses are wonderful, but with my astigmatism, I may have to resort in spending extra in order to get those special made toric circle lenses. However, I will say that these lenses are more comfortable to wear during long days. I work 9 hours every day plus school after that, so I need something comfortable on my eyes. Am I willing to shell out $30 and repurchase these? Yes. Maybe not this particular color since I'd want to try others, but I think these lenses are quite great.

  1. Oh you're such a busy person, working 9 hours a day and school, and yet you're still able to post on your blog, you're a very committed person! :) And aw, sorry to hear about your stress from work and wow, you're the only person left in your apartment? :(

I really like the lens, I know you wrote, they aren't as big as you're used to, but I think the enlargement is fine! It gives you such a cute, doe-like look, and I like the colour of it as well, it makes your eyes the focal point of the look.

Haha, I had to laugh when you described it as "slimy", but I understand cause whenever I open a new package of contacts, they do feel slimy, but in a good way, not a gross one. That's great that you got used to it and didn't feel the contacts on the third day.

    xx Courtney

    1. I wish I wasn't so busy all the time, but I know I only have to endure it until I graduate this May. I've been playing LoZ Majora's Mask for the past two weeks and only on the second dungeon, and all I want is time to finish it haha.

      Thanks for reading :)

  2. wow! thanks so much for sharing this post, I didn't know these existed til now.
these sound so awesome, a little pricey but for something this good is probably worth it.

    1. Yeah, I hesitated because it's very pricey :( well maybe not hesitated enough since I purchased two of them >_< I need to start slapping my right hand to prevent too much impulsing buying!

Thanks for stopping by and reading!
