[Review] Jolse: Benton Honest TT Mist

Hello folks!
Today I'll be doing a review on the Benton Honest TT Mist* ($7.98)
*Disclaimer: This was provided to me by Jolse for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.

"We called it the Honest Line because you could be assured of using the Benton's Honest Line due to its honest ingredients used in making this natural product. Benton Honest TT Mist is made of Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water instead of water. This mist contains Hyaluronic acid and various beauty ingredients to help improve your rough and damaged skin from stress and pollution with moisturizing and cooling effect."

For all skin types.

A while back I picked up the Holy Grail (for many individuals) product, Benton's Snail Bee High Content Essence. And honestly...I hated it. I'm the type of person that sometimes judges brands by first impressions. I had such high expectations for the product that I was disappointed enough to tell myself that the entire brand was just not for me. Because of my previous bad experience, I was a little really reluctant to try this mist out just because it was from Benton.

My skin type: Oily, acne-prone, large pores, ice pick acne scars

What is Tea Tree?
Typically made into oil form, the tea tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) is native to Australian communities and is highly prized due to the plant's healing abilities. Some of the benefits of using tea tree oil include helping calm acne, fungal infections, and bacterial infections. Since tea tree oil is quite strong and may cause irritation if it is directly put on the face, skincare lines typically mix it with water to dilute it. A lot of toners include tea tree oil as it is believed to cleanse the skin and shrink the appearance of pores.
Since my skin type is overall plain evil, I've always stayed away from using mists during the day. I remember purchasing the TonyMoly Pocket Bunny Mist a couple of years ago, and found it to be awful. So to my surprise after using this for just one day, my skin felt great.

I spray this on before applying my makeup...and never after because like I said earlier...evil skin. I've used about 3 weeks worth, and I can feel my skin slowly improving in the oil department. Any acne that I do have also doesn't get any bigger or irritated when I use this.
Consistency is similar to just water. It has no scent either, but it does feel nicer than just a water mist.
As far as how long the tube can last, I'm not sure. Another complaint I have is that it felt like the mist was strong and concentrated to a specific area rather than the mist being sprayed nice and evenly throughout the rest of my face. I need to pat afterwards for it to dry.

  • Has a great ingredient list
  • Controls my oil and inflammation during the day
  • Seems to help keep my bb cream/foundation on longer
  • Does not break me out
  • Fragrance free
  • Packaging: I can't estimate how much of the product is left
  • One pump doesn't evenly distribute to my entire face; I need to spray each section of my face which is a waste (it could be just my pump)

Final Verdict:

If you've read many of my reviews before, I don't hand out 5/5 often. This was very close, with me knocking off 1 point only because of the packaging. Of course it's all about preference, especially since the mist is very portable and looks quite sleek. While I think 40 ml is a decent amount for the price, I'm a little frustrated that I can't truly gauge how much of the product I have left. That only upsets me because I really do like the product and I'd like to know when I have to order a new one.
